Terms & Conditions

The terms and conditions listed below form part of the contract between the customer and the Hotel Täscherhof. We advise to read them through carefully and thank you for doing so.

 

  1. CONTRACT CONCLUSION

In all matters relating to the conditions of contract, the Swiss Code of Obligations shall apply. A reservation shall be considered as definite if:

  • an offer made by the Hotel Täscherhof is confirmed in writing by the guest.
  • a receipt of a deposit or a credit card as a guarantee has been received.

We reserve the right to debit any cancellation charges direct from the credit card. For guests resident in Switzerland, a reservation shall also be considered as definite upon receipt of a written confirmation (e-mail or letter).

 

  1. PRICES / METHODS OF PAYMENT

The agreed prices are those stated in the contract in question or in the corresponding Price List(s). Prices are given in Swiss francs (CHF) and include service and VAT. Unless otherwise agreed, breakfast and other meals are not included in the room price.

We accept the following credit cards and methods of payment – American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard, Visa, JCB, Maestro, Twint and cash.

  1. CONDITIONS OF CANCELLATION
  • Arrival and departure times

Guest rooms are available from 4PM on the day of arrival and until 11AM on the day of departure. In the event of earlier arrivals and/or later departures, special arrangements should be made with the hotel in advance. In the event of an early arrival or late departure, the room may be checked in earlier or left later by arrangement with the hotel.

  • Conditions of cancellation

Unless otherwise agreed, room reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to 2pm 3 days prior to arrival. Cancellations received less than 3 days in advance, no-shows or early departures will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the entire stay. Please note that the cancellation policy may vary from the above during high season and on selected dates.

If the hotelier suffers a loss as a result of the guest’s failure to comply with his obligations (late cancellation, no-show, late arrival, early departure), the guest shall be liable to pay this loss in accordance with the general rules on contracts (OR 97ff) and the provisions of the law on tenancy in the event of early return of the property (OR 264).

 

  1. PARKING

The Hotel Täscherhof has its own car park. Guests are welcome to park their car for a fee of CHF 12 per car per night (subject to availability). Please note that the hotel cannot be held responsible for any damage caused during parking.

 

  1. PETS

Dogs are welcome at Hotel Täscherhof. For the special cleaning of the room we charge CHF 15 per night per dog (without food). We reserve the right to charge for any damage caused by pets. Pets are allowed in all room categories. Superior rooms are an exception.

 

  1. CITY TAX

There is an additional tourist tax of CHF 4 per adult per night and CHF 2 for children aged 9-15.

 

  1. CANCELLATION OF THE HOTEL

If an agreed advance payment or prepayment or other security for payment demanded in accordance with clause 1 is not made even after a reasonably short grace period set by the hotel has expired, the hotel shall be entitled to rescind the contract with immediate effect.

The hotel shall also be entitled to rescind the contract with immediate effect if the hotel cannot be reasonably expected to enter into, continue or fully perform the contractual relationship or can no longer be reasonably expected to do so due to force majeure or other circumstances for which the hotel is not responsible, or if rooms and/or function rooms have been booked on the basis of misleading or false statements of material facts (e.g. The hotel has reasonable grounds to believe that the use of the hotel’s services may jeopardise the smooth operation of the hotel, the safety or reputation of other guests and/or the hotel, without this being attributable to the hotel’s sphere of control or organisation.

In the aforementioned cases, the hotel shall be entitled to terminate the contract immediately and the guest shall not be entitled to any compensation. The hotel shall be entitled to any advance payments or payment guarantees made by the guest in accordance with the provisions of clause 8.

 

  1. LIABILITY

The Hotel is liable for property brought in by guests in accordance with the law. Liability for slight negligence is expressly excluded.

If the Guest suffers any damage or is dissatisfied with the services of the Hotel, he/she must notify the Hotel immediately, otherwise he/she will not be able to assert any rights.

If the hotel fails to provide the agreed hotel room(s), the hotel shall be liable to the guest for any damage incurred, provided that such damage can be proven. If the hotel is unable to provide the reserved room(s) upon arrival, the hotel shall arrange for equivalent substitute accommodation in another hotel and shall bear all additional costs, such as transportation, accommodation, etc., in excess of the original contract prices. All claims against the hotel are subject to a limitation period of 6 months from the date of departure, unless a longer period is prescribed by law.

The customer shall be liable to the Hotel Täscherhof for all damage, loss or other damage caused by the customer, its employees, its agents, its event participants or other third parties.

 

  1. FINAL PROVISIONS

Changes or additions to the contract or booking confirmation must always be made in writing. Unilateral changes or additions are not valid. By signing the contract/reservation confirmation or unilaterally confirming a booking, you accept the General Terms and Conditions. In the absence of a provision in the General Terms and Conditions, the Swiss Code of Obligations shall automatically apply.

This contract is governed exclusively by Swiss law.

The parties agree that the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Visp / Switzerland.
